Established Sussex business Brain Injury Services Ltd has taken offices on the ground floor of High Weald House to give the company more professional, contemporary premises from which it can expand across the south-east.

Brain Injury Services was set up in 1999. Its 18-strong team support people affected by brain injuries across Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, London, Kent and Essex – helping them maintain as much independence as possible. The company offers recruitment, personnel, equipment ordering, budget management and payroll services and delivers initial needs assessments Europe-wide.

Brain Injury Services was founded by Don Young who, having owned the business for 21 years, is retiring from November. The company has new owners in Cardiff-based Stokes Case Management – for which it will provide an established south-east England presence.

The firm has been based in Battle since its inception, where its team was scattered across three offices which were no longer fit for purpose.

Jenny Mitchell, Brain Injury Services’ Director of Operations, explains:

“We needed to consolidate in one single location and looked at local options. High Weald House stood out as the best bet for us – brand new, high-spec offices with lots of space and a highly professional, contemporary feel. The building is disability friendly – which is clearly vital given the nature of our business – and the shared facilities like lifts, meetings rooms and breakout areas are impressive.

“Our new offices are actually costing us no more than our old ones, and the process of agreeing the lease was extremely simple.  Sea Change Sussex was highly accommodating of our needs. This is definitely the right base from which we can look forward to growing the business under new ownership.”
