Construction by Sea Change Sussex of the initial phase of the Bexhill Enterprise Park is under way on land to the north-east of Bexhill – with piling work for the first business premises just completed.
The project will create high quality business premises on the most extensive new commercial development land available in East Sussex.
This is designed to help local firms expand and to attract companies to the area, so providing local jobs. Complemented by significant plans for home building in the area, it will create a major new business and residential community to the north-east of Bexhill.
The first development on the Bexhill Enterprise Park is Glovers House (shown below) – a 25,315 sq ft business centre. Construction is being carried out by Buckingham Group Contracting.
Piling works and ground clearance for Glovers House have just been completed. Ground works are now under way, to be followed by steelworks to create the frame of the building.
Glovers House is scheduled to be completed in summer 2015. Sea Change and its agents are taking letting enquiries now, with several firms already expressing interest.
The premises will house up to 70 small to medium-sized businesses or a smaller number of larger companies. These could be start-ups, established local firms, companies from outside the area or a combination of these.
The offices available in Glovers House are flexible to suit companies’ needs and range from 630 sq ft to the entire building, which will be able to accommodate up to 300 employees.Glovers House artists impression – small
The rest of the Enterprise Park provides a range of sites capable of supporting developments up to 220,000 sq ft. Companies can commission Sea Change to develop bespoke freehold or leasehold properties for them, or buy sites to develop their own premises.
The Bexhill Enterprise Park will be accessed by the Bexhill-Hastings Link Road when it opens, providing an easy connection to Hastings and the A21 to London. It will also be accessible from the south via the road Sea Change is developing to connect to Bexhill’s Wrestwood Road. This new road is under construction and on schedule to be completed next year in time for Glovers House to open.
